Information about diagnosis and behavioral treatment of the most common sexual dysfunctions will also be used as a basis to explore possible underlying, psychoanalytic issues that may contribute to sexual dysfunctions and/or how psychological symptoms may surface in a sexual complaint. His papers remain timely for clinicians and the interested public, whether he writes on mood or on the origins of our concept of objectivity in a dream or on childhood fantasy in phobias. We will discuss some of Lewin's most relevant papers and their application in both clinical and non-clinical environments. Copies of the papers to be discussed will be provided to the participants.

Educational Objectives: Participants will become acquainted with Lewin's writing and approaches. They will develop an awareness of how these may enhance their clinical skills in helping patients unravel phobic and some hypomanic states and will further develop their interviewing skills.  They will also consider the roles of wonder and humor in professional and other settings.
